  1. It's been a few years since I sold my 800ss for financial reasons and I have really missed it. I've had a Suzuki TL1000s, Cagiva V Raptor 1000 and a Honda CB500 since then but always wanted to come back to a Ducati. My new (to me) bike looks like it's been well cared for and is totally standard. I'm just planning on fitting some nice sounding carbon fibre cans to it and probably re-jet the carbs to suit if it is necessary (anybody know?). Any way I'll be badgering you experts for tips and hope to be on here most nights. Thanks, Chris.

    The bike should be fine without carb mode just with race cans fitted, however if you go down the open airbox / high flow air filter route you'll need a stage 2 dynojet kit to go with it.

  11. If it hasn't already had a Dynojet kit fitted, that is.....and the only way to know is whip the airbox off and have a look at the main needles.

    If the airbox has already been cut about or the trumpets are missing, you may already have a Stage 1 kit fitted.

  13. Thanks for the replies. I can't beleive how helpful you lot are! Lifted the tank the other day and I can see two small trumpets so I assume it's not been modified. Can anybody recommend any nice carbon cans that will sound nice but not break the bank?

  14. Welcome to another Nottinghamshire Ducatisti.

    Scorpion used to make carbon silencers for SS models & older Monsters. Not sure if they are still available as some silencer manufacturers don't currently list the SS models. Perhaps worth a post in the SS section of this web site where one of the SS experts can help you?


    Any issues in finding a helmet that fits if you really are Noddy's Best Friend?

  15. Had a brilliant ride out on the Duc today. Can't believe how nice it rides and handles. Think this is going to be a long term relationship.

  19. I just got a set of GPR cans from Italy that are very nice fit and finish for my 01 900ssie. I got the hi-mount. The are quite a bit lighter and look great.
