Hi all, I am considering selling my 2016 959 Panigale track bike. I have no idea of the value, so I’d appreciate some of you with more experience to offer your expertise to help. It’s a 2016 model on a 65 plate. About 6000 miles. I think three previous owners from memory. V5 is present. I bought it as a road bike and specc’d it over to track form as a personal project through covid. Unfortunately I have sold the road fairings, I know I would get more for it by reverting it but this isn’t an option unfortunately! Spec as follows: -Pirelli supercorsa sc2 (one day) -Wets on wheels. Pirelli supercorsa rain (one session) and stand -CRC fairings, Flamingo tank protector, Puig screen -Lightech rearsets in race shift -GB racing engine cases and lever guard -R&G front and rear spindles, lockstop savers -MHP two part baffles (good for 89db days) -Spare Brembo sintered pads -Spare sprockets I’m not looking at getting anything else, so can include paddock stands, tyre warmers, wheel chock and ramp if required. Ran for two years and a grand total of 5 track days… Oil and filter changed three times so far. Would appreciate your thoughts on value and if you have anyone interested in buying. Located Gloucestershire. Many thanks, Nev
so to revert it to road legal it needs the lights/indicators reinstating and the no plate hanger. is the loom fully intact?
Worth about 4 grand. I can get pick up Sat lol EBay is your friend for value. 7-9k seems to be the spread depending on spec and service history. For some odd reason 899, inferior older bike, seems to command more vale (bonkers!!)
so to revert it to road legal it needs the lights/indicators reinstating ……. Not with a daytime mot it doesn’t.
Thanks for the replies all. Nice one bradders Yes I remember looking originally at 959s and wondering why the 899 cost more. Pay more and don’t get a slipper clutch Yes the wiring loom is untouched. I don’t remember cutting any bits for the fairings etc. And left the horn in. Come to think of it I have the Rosso corsa II’s in the garage too. So someone could use the spare wheels as road wheels.
im not listening to anything @Expat Jack says he wants me to chop my 749 track hack in for a 959 problem is that truss has taken away my play money
Saw this at the time - puts me in a condundrum. I have a road 959 which am about to spend money on to turn into track hack only. Let me get some prices on my 959/what I can do as am keen but cant lay out without selling mine first as this has everything I would want other than suspension done by looks of it Keen to know what DB the akro puts out tho please?
Hi Wasey, No worries. I’m not sure exactly what the Db killers put it at, however I’ve done 89db days at Oulton and never had any problems. They are two-part killers from MHP so can be quiet or extra quiet Akra ones also included. For what it’s worth, I’d sell yours as a road bike and buy a track bike. I sort of wish I’d done this (although half the reason I did mine was as a project just for the enjoyment of doing it). With the price of a road one (~10k) and the cost of converting to a good quality (mine has wets on wheels, good fairings, rearsets, all that jazz) it ends up owing you a lot of money! (~12500k) there are lots of ex Ducati cup bikes that come up for ~8/9k. What I’d say about mine is it’s had a very easy life. I’m not one to squeeze tenths out of lap times (I don’t even time my laps), I’ve just done trackdays for the enjoyment and adventure.
I would be very interested in a 959 but I want a road one, and tbh I don't want the Akra's as I don't think you'll get on track in the UK with them now, it was bad enough years back when I had a 899 with Termi's. Lovely clean bike though, I'd say it's worth more than £8500 with the wheels, probably nearer £9500
@Wasey has a road one and wants a track one, so you get @Wasey 's, @Wasey can then buy @Nev959's and everyone is happy. Just need to find someone to buy your R1 now.
I'm going to go back on myself as I've just been looking at the 899/959 for sale and dealers have them between £8750 and £10500 with V5 as clean road bikes. So maybe it is nearer £8500-9000
