OP may think its a tough crowd on here, but we know our stuff. I reckon the Silver Frame colour wasn't around until the 2000 996SPS and 5 spoke wheels were from 99 onwards in grey apart from '98 Foggy reps which were black. You will need plenty of pics with fairings off to attract a serious buyer.
The first 996s (1999) still had the 3 spokes bronze wheels and bronze frame. For me 5 spokes wheels (and grey frames) appeared on regular production bikes in 2000. Regarding OP’s listing, the asking price seems to indicate that he knows his bike is not exactly genuine, doesn’t it? May be this shouln’t be listed as an SPS?
I don’t know about UK but over here, a well preserved 916 Strada will fetch 12-14.000€. A genuine mint 916 SPS will be well north of 20k€… That being said, the market seems to have slowed down a bit since March.
Europe always seems more expensive. Hence when pound was stronger a few years ago bikes were being sold full retail in dealers and being shipped abroad as that was still cheaper
asking, getting is a different kind of story. I own a 998s 2002. Asking 75k€ reckon it’s still here for a while and I don’t care
Thanks for all the feedback, genuinely appreciate all of it. I too was sceptical so reached out to Ducati and they confirmed the frame and engine number are for a 98 SPS. Posted here to get a steer on price and comments. Like the man said asking and getting are 2 different things.
