996 Bar Risers

  1. Has anyone fitted the Ducabike bar riser clip ins for a little more comfort? If not any recommendations??
I know it’s going to be minimal because of the fairing.
    Cheers

  2. I’ve just taken a punt on some £37 1” higher clipons off eBay. A lot cheaper than the Ducabike ones. If they do what I want but look sketch I’ll buy the more expensive ones.

  3. I fitted the adjustable ones to my 748 a few years ago. Does make a noticeable difference and they are well made.

  4. I've fitted gilles variobars to mine. Can't recommend them enough

I’ve fitted them and had a couple of rides. They’re definitely better for you ergos but there’s better quality out there. These look ok but the screws are difficult to get to, you have to assemble them in a particular order or you’re screwed.

  7. Also I forgot, you’ll have to relocate the master brake pot, or it will foul the fairing. I used a smaller pot (clutch and rear brake size) that was fitted to the bike when I bought it (and subsequently replaced with new Brembo stuff. : unamused:)

Also also, turning circle is reduced because the brake levers foul on the fairing (can’t use steering lock now, just not quite enough turn available). AND - if your hands are on the bars and you sharp turn, there’s a chance you’re going down when the tops of your hands get stuck under those droopy mirrors o_O
