996 Or Mv 750 F4?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by ibgarrow, Jul 23, 2018.

  1. I have a new Supersport, but have enough now to look at bike number two. I'm not a fast rider, but am looking for something that is particularly special, that I can keep and pass on to my daughter eventually, so I'm not overly concerned at how fast or macho it is, nor how particularly comfortable.
My current shortlist is: 996 and MV Agusta 750 F4
    Any advice? Alternatives?
I've ruled out the 21st century nakeds as I don't think they'll be worth much in 20 years, but am quite happy to listen-you lot have far more experience, knowledge and information than I.

  2. Unfortunately I cannot comment as I will have a 750F4S for sale soon with only 4500 miles from new. An Evo 3 which is by far the best of the 3 as well.
It would be a little biased of me, I will abstain :innocent:

  3. if its an original 750 f4 it will be worth more in the future than a bog 996. But the 996 i think is the better bike.

  6. i'm up for the 996 but who knows how the market place will play out in the future...............do we care:thinkingface:or just enjoy the ride:)

  7. If a Ducati then deffo not, has to be an early 916 with the first graphics, much more desirable now and more so in the future - like a Z1 / Z1A / Z1B Vs a Z900/1000 :):upyeah: i.e. double the value for a very similar bike :motorcycleduc::motorcycleduc:

  16. How much i like my 916.
But if i would have to choose between a 996 or an mv 750.
I think i would go for a mv agusta.

    Henk!!!

  17. I’ve had a few 916/996 and although not exactly like sitting on your couch, th MV is uncomfortable on a whole new level

  20. I have an MV 750. Had it For 18 years. The EVO2 engine is sat in the garage. i have the SPR engine in it. That is the last of the EVO3 engines before the 1000.
Specialist Cars of Malton (an indy Porsche place) had an SPR in for £10000
The 750 MV is becoming sought after. in standard form they are more uncomfortable than the 916.
i have a set of bars on mine that look original but are infinitely adjustable and a set of adjustable footrests and its far comfier than my 1098
It always draws a crowd more than the Ducati's
if the main aim is an investment for your daughter the MV is the way to go they are rarer
