Can anyone recommend a good rear paddock stand for a 996? I'm a bit lost with the different ones available, some seem to have metal pins, some nylon, some locking screws, some not, etc. It would also be useful if it could be used on different bikes in the future, as well. Thanks in advance.
I just got mine for the 848 from busters accessories on eBay for £52 it's got the locking pin and fits a lot of ducatis I was surprised how good quality it was its absolutely solid way better than cheap paddock stands I've had in the past
the Ducati Performance Stand by FG Special parts is a good solid bit of kit and show up fairly often 2nd hand they have metal spindles Abba stand is also a good for especially as you can buy fitttng kits for most bikes although it is a bit more of a faff to use than the DP stand
dp stand every time. put up a wanted post. I bought mine from royum via this forum. ( thanks roy ). I may be wrong but you should be able to make a 1098/848 /1198 stand fit your bike with a little machining, I may be wrong.
The stand is essentially the same, only the pin is a different size for the 1098/1198. An 848 pin should fit a 996.
lots of Ducatis use the same size pin this should help widen your search 748/916/996/998/848 superbikes Monster S2R S4R 796 M1100 (preety sure but not 100% about S4RS) Mutlistrada DS1000 (and possibly 1100) possibly Hypermotard too
I have a DP stand in my garage that I've been meaning to sell, fitted my 996 and is a very substantial bit of kit. PM me where you are based if interested.
FG Gubellini, by far the best. The same as mentioned above only not sold by Ducati. Individually serial numbered to show exclusivity!! The matching front stand is good too.
