Was just minding my own business on a trundle in the sun when the soundtrack went to volume eleven and my right leg seemed to burning. I stopped, had a look around and noticed this hole in the rear exhaust manifold and the plug nestling between the rear engine casing and swing arm. So I think I can bolt it back on, maybe with a little copper grease, but anyone have any thoughts about where to lockwire it, to prevent a recurrence? Cheers, Paul.
I have seen them lock wired. Yours already looks like it has the appropriate holes in it for that pukka trick Factory look!
the whole point of the lock wire is to stop something undoing.... so where you have just put the wire through the plug you could of enhanced that better by going through the middle of the plug but then the right tang should of wrapped around the bottom of the plug and rejoined the left tang and you started your twisting from there. the end result is that the lock wire is puling the screw thread tight.
Well, if we're going to be really picky, I think that'd still undo but not fall off. This is simpler and more direct I think (done with fat fingers on my phone )
