Hello, hello This year I bought an 1995 748 with a 996 engine to convert it into a track day bike. I need to buy an new fairing for it and I wonderd if it would be possible to put the 998 fairing on it. You know the fairing that is completely closed on the side with the hot air exit wright by the knees. (998R, 998 FE, 748 s,...) The frame has some rust on it, and I decided to have the whole frame recoated and painted. So if the whole bike is goiing to be disasembled, are there things I should do, consider, renew, ... ??? Thanks
Any of these fairings should fit I believe. Ref your build. Full service - check rockers for wear. Change coolant. Brake fluid. Oil and filter. Etc etc. Track prep assuming you are on a budget. Upgrade brake pads after servicing callipers. Upgrade suspension, especially the rear. Fit good tyres. Enjoy.
Hi, I have a set of carbon 998R fairings: sides and belly) that have a bit ( ) of "rash" for sale if you would be interested. Also a full set of fibreglass fairings for sale - nose, sides, belly and tail. Also a tank. Also an new OEM nose.... Unfortunately all in the UK.
For track use get a fairing with a bellypan just in case anything goes wrong and you lose oil etc. I use Recambi Weiss fibreglass fairings, good value and decent fit. https://www.ricambiweiss.com/en/ver...ss-racing-fairing-ducati-748-916-996-998.html
Yes it fit other way around not straight away. A 916/996 fairing on a 998 fit not because the ducts hit the coils. Henk!!!
Moderator moved my post, I couldn't find it. Somebody repport this guy Guess I have to introduce meself now. I started riding a motorcycle back in 2003 (mental note: that is almost twenty years ago ) My first bike was a Suzuki SV650s, the budget Ducati Most fun bike I have owned to date. One year after I had my license I tested a 748 and boy did that thing steer. Unfortantly I didn't get a fair price for my SV, so no deal. Three years later I bought a Honda VFR 800 Vtec because of that V4 engine. Five years later I sold the VFR because, ... yeah... I didn't ride anymore because babies don't go on an motorcycle. I didn't ride until 2016 when I bought a ST4s. In 2018 I bought an Aprilia RSV Mille as a track bike, and earlier this year I finally bought my dream bike, a 996. She needs some love and attention, and hopefully next year I'll get her up and running. So, ST4s as a road bike, Mille as a track bike and 996 in the making
Yeah, budget and Ducati in the same sentence ... Well let's say a Ducati budget Any suggestions for the rear suspension? I was thinking of just revising the demper because Showa is allright, wright???
