998 Gearbox

  1. Just had my first couple of rides on the 998 having never ridden a Ducati before and it seems to be struggling to go down the box, mostly 2nd and 1st. No problem going up the box, not sure if it's me or a problem. The lever moves down but doesn't seem to engage! Any help would be appreciated

  2. 1 of the rod end joints was worn on my 996 linkage 12,000mls not good, and was ok shifting up but not down, so worth checking. i changed over to a fixed reverse shift lever like the gp bikes, 1 up 5 down, if you can learn to get on with it i find it has a lot more solid feel.

  3. What make did you go for mate? All my other bikes are reverse shift (being an ex racer) as it stops me going the wrong way when shifting! My aim is to change to reverse shift, did you bin the std set up all together?
    Cheers

  4. I Just bought an ebay special £35.00 and its been on for around 3k mls and is working fine, the foot part is on an adjustable cam, so you fine tune to your foot. just took all the standard set up off and fitted the reverse shiffter, 5min job.
