998 Header Tank

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Wooly46, Mar 9, 2022.

  1. Guys, I know it’s probably been covered a million times as I know it’s a common issue, I’ve noticed I may have a tiny leak from the coolant header. Are there any stainless or carbon tanks available in the uk? Cheers

Friend of mine just got one from them for his 996.

It seems to be pretty resistant, made of carbon clothe (except for the plastic « window » where you can check the coolant level). The inserts are made of metal. The finish, however, doesn’t seem top shelf quality.

  3. Didn't know they existed, very flash

  4. just had a scour on the net for stainless/aluminium aftermarket tanks but seem to have dried up or waiting for someone to order a batch. MotoWheels was one source, last available were very expensive. I'm surprised someone doesn't set up to make a few going by last price.

  5. And apparently, they don’t crack, unlike the plastic ones. Carbon clothe make them a bit more « flexible ».
