998 project 1st question

  1. Just started stripping my 998 project to clean n check it all ect and found both air tubes have plastic blocks fitted were the tube meets the air box, the only use they seem to have is to restrict the air flow ! Anyone know what these things are for please ?
     
  2. as you say they are there to aid flow speed, but also reduce induction noise...............best thing for them..............throw them as far as you can!

  4. As Andy said, they are there for noise reduction. You must have one of the few bikes with them still in place :eek: bin them. It'll sound better and there's a useful boost to be had in throttle response and power.
