Why did I ever think that I would still fit on a sports bike with a knackered back and restricted neck movement? I can but only for about 10 miles before I start to wonder what the heck am I doing. As much as I like simply looking at this beauty it makes more sense to sell it on after 2 years of joy/pain in equal measures. I have spent hours and hours and a bit of cash sorting out the odd problem, including a few hundred quid having the old alarm removed by a pro bike electrician. The cutting out after a few miles turned out to be the wrong o rings in the brand new quick release fuel line connectors which i replaced again for the metal variety. It now starts instantly and runs and revs like a new 'un, plenty of grunt and keeps on pulling. New belts 18 months ago, filter and oil changed. Currently done about 17,500 miles and unlikely to do many more under me. Out of mot but I will put 12 months on if it sells. Let's be clear that it's not an immaculate garage queen, I wanted one that I could ride without worrying about keeping it mint, but it's not a shitter either. It's a nice usable reasonable mileage work of art that stirs the soul and gets even non bikers talking about it. It will come with 2 keys, the books, a rear paddock stand and a dual seat with the pillion pad but no passenger footpegs. Located in North Shropshire Looking for £9500
Are the ducati shield stickers hiding a scratch? genuine question, as I would consider this bike but would be worried a mint panel has a scratch under a sticker.
what's the general condition of the engine paint like? specifically around the rear top of the engine cases behind the cylinder etc? I will add it to my watch list but can't get serious about looking at any bikes until I get mine sold
Yoga!...yoga...yoga... seriously I think it is the only way to ride these damn things into a ripe old age..
Good Luck with the Sale L.D. and sorry to hear about your reason for selling, there must be many of us on here going through a similar thought process.
I've just put it away before reading this. I'll take some photos of the engine next time I get it out. I should have put that it has carbon Air tubes with BMC air filters.
