Just bought a 996 and I'm in love again! But got the chance of a 998s final edition thinking of buying as an investment? Might make a man cave and put it in an air tight Perspex display case to just look at for a few years. Anyone think it's a good investment?? Or should I ride her and sell the 996?
They have already gone up about £4K in the last 2 years but will continue to go north. Is it a mono? If you can get it at a good price you won't go far wrong
Buy the 998 and ride it! Sell the 996 to offset the depreciation. Don't stick a great bike in a glass case until you are both worn out! Just going out to add to the 43,000 miles on my SPS.
Mate, I'm with you, trouble is this place is getting as bad as the Porsche forums, no interest in riding them, just owning them as assets, also a 4K uplift in 2 years is bugger all in real terms plus will need a full recommissioning after a number of years standing. Pointless. Better off getting a buy to let.
I'm not rich by a long way and as stated at the end of the comment in 2 minds wether to sell the 996 and buy the 998s to ride.
Had a 996s back in 2003 with the testa motor this 996 has the desmo not ridden it yet as belts need doing the fella I bought it off has had it 10 years and done 2500 miles on it it's got 3300 on it at present.
Might be a 2002 996 for sale with 3300 miles on it in mint condition decided you guys were right am gonna ride the 998s they were built for riding not stuck in a box
Hey, the 998 is a 998s final edition with 4000miles on her in mint condition first registered in 05 but it's an 03/04 been in touch with ducati in Italy they rang me back and were very helpful and confirmed everything about the bike. Have been mulling this over for the last 2 weeks but have bitten the bullet and I'm having her
