I've been tinkering for a while now with the idea of dropping the engine out of the bike and having the lads at lougi moto work their magic on it... Had a long chat with rich about it. Full bottom end blueprint. Super finish on all gearbox components. Cylinders re honed or new nicosil coating. Gas flowing the heads and re seating the valves, cam timing setup, bike reassembled and Chris steedman's dyno setup / remap and finally the suspension setup. All this lot comes in at just under £4K. The reason for doing all this is, there's a good chance one of the front cylinder valves is nearly out of spec, @Tobytyke mentioned this when he fitted the belts a couple of years ago. So good time to have a scan at them but the main reason being, I have sunk way too much money into this bike to even contemplate selling if I ever wanted to. Which I can't imagine doing anytime soon. So, getting the engine spot on i think, is the best thing left to do to it. Told them I wasn't after massive HP gains, just wanted an improved bullet proof engine with the best setup for road use. Smoother gearchanges and less vibrations... So, just wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences, or had any recommendations through experience with getting blueprinting work done and lougi moto? Cheers, ian
He also said that they would remove some material from the flywheel... but I thought this normally made it more difficult to get a decent tickover? Did you go for the super finish gearbox, mate?
i cant remmember what i did with my flywheel mate think it was just lightened also on my 748r totally removed on the 748/853 track bike though, tick over was fine other than fuel build up on the butterflies would make it stall when i pulled off (748/853r), gear box was standard i think mate all checked out before it went back in though.
