999 999/749 Tank Bag

  1. Hey peeps,

I've been looking for a tankbag for my 749 for over a few months now. As far as i can tell the one that fits the tank best is the Ducati Performance one, but i've searched and searched but it is nowhere to be found.

Does any of you have a bak on their tank that looks the part, not too big, not too small either and preferably magnetic?

    Thnks

  2. Virtually any magnetic tank bag will fit 999. One with curved back and not too tall gives you a bit more room. The DP one looks a bit small to me but never tried one.

  3. Never heard of the make but looks as if it will do the job. I took an Oxford one on a trip round Europe. it is a pain when filling up but mine had two bungee type attachments that were easy enough to remove when filling up.

  4. I use a medium-sized Held job on my 749 and it works well. Not the same shape as the tank but there are sufficient and sufficiently strong magnets underneath for it not to matter!

  5. My brother in law lives in Vancouver if that guy won't ship outside of Canada or the U.S Tom.

  6. The one in Vancouver is not responding to my questions. Anyway, through this forum i did get in touch with someone and my DP tank bag should be arriving soon!

I looked at many bag designs and what caused me the most worries is that the 999/749 tank is wide in the front and very narrow in the back. Most universal bags are straight.
I was doubting to order the Joe Rocket manta or Hammerhead, but like i said i got my hands on a DP one which fits the tank like a glove!

    Thanks for the help guys!

  7. Nice one, as you know they are not easy to find. Mine is a bit dirty and battered now, due to use and London smog. The plastic pocket is quite fragile too so be wary of that.
