  1. Hi All,

Todaz i just came home from the trackday and i recognized that oil comming out from the front sprocket. The bearing at front sprocket is total damaged so its need to be replace. Has anybody any experience regarding this? If i am right then the engine need to be removed and total disassembly. I going to crazy whit this engines
    Thanks for any info.

  3. Are you sure it's not the main bearing? these go fairly regularly unfortunately, but if it is the sprocket bearing both will require an engine strip down.

  4. That's a bit harsh :frown:, I think he does pretty well for a second language

  7. Hi,
i didnt check it yet maybe next week i will start with it at the moment i have a lot of things to finish and after i will start with the bike. Yes you are right it will be a main bearing because i dont htink so that the front sporcket have separately bearings.
Its a big shit that becasue of that i need to remove the fuckin engune and split it on japanese bikes this kind of problem can be solved easyer.

  8. Lucky Luk :) i dont know Pal but i am fuckin nervous i just started to feel the bike i get best laptime like on a HONDA SP2 and now is fucked and the season is over for me. :(

  9. Output shaft has its own unsealed ball race with a separate seal on the outboard side. You will need to split the casing to get to this, so you may as well do all the bearings while you are in there.

  10. Sorry to hear of more probs xb , unfortunately it'll have to come out ,although you have done that before so at least you have experience to call on.

  11. Usually if the main bearing goes the vibration cracks the side casing and that is what causes the oil leak. I have had one go on a 748R engine and it's a full rebuild job but while you are at it you might as well check the crank bearings as well, mine were on the way out and had gone right through the shell surface.

Sadly the parts are not cheap either.

  12. Yes i already have experiance with removing the engine becasue i alredy changed it when i changed because of crank but remove everything from the engine will be big challange. Why me :)

  13. Hi,
if anybody will hear or see somewhere a 999 engine for a good price please inform me.
    Thank you!

  14. You could try Bikenders they break Ducati's and a few people on the forum in the past have got the odd engine from them.

  15. you have rotten luck.
I dont think id ever track a stock engine 999
I dont think they (engines) take the punishment too well compared to jap bikes.
love the bikes but not what I would call a hard engine

  16. It is true they are not that robust comparatively and the nearside main bearing is an issue with a lot of 998/999 models, but other models in the 748 range don't fare so well either. My main bearing and big end shells went after on my 748R engine after just 4,000 miles, pretty poor really and it cost £1400 to have it rebuilt.

  17. Yes you are right 1400-1600eur only the rebuild and for 1600eur is possible to buy crashed bike with a good engine or for 1000eur complete engine. With the removing i dont have a problem but i dont want to split the engine because its a huge job.

  18. Hi Phil,
