999 Clutch

  1. Has anyone fitted a sureflex clutch upgrade , (the steel , composite and dished plate ) Part number S1816.

    This is meant to be an upgrade to the standard clutch .
    I have just got 1 , the drawing with it is a bit unclear , could someone let me know the order the plates go in ?
    From what i can see the dished steel plate goes in first followed by 1 of the thick steel plates and then alternating composite /thinner steel plates and finishing with the 2nd thick steel plate , is this correct?
    Any info greatly appreciated .

  2. As far as I can see the order is (inside to outside)

    5/4/7/3/7/3/7/3/7/3/7/3/7/3/7/3/7/4

    5 = spring plate (x1)
    4 = Different thickness steel plate to 3 (x2)
    7 = Clutch plate (x8)
    3 = Steel plate (x7)

  3. Thats how ive just assembled it , and i have done a couple of standing starts (im freezing and its pissing down ) so i havnt taken it for a proper ride yet .
    This all started as i thought the clutch was heavy so ordered an oberon slave cyl. , then 1 thing led to another and i thought i would strip the clutch , it was worn out 2 steel plates already in there and measuring 35.5 mm for the stack .
    More interestingly there was no dished metal plate , which i believe there should be ! which then added to my confused state with the sure flex clutch .
    Any way any advice/info/reassurance would be appreciated .
