999 coughs and splutters.

  1. My 2004 999 is a beauty and purrs everywhere apart from in traffic where she burps, farts, spits and cuts out. Pretty annoying! Is this usual behaviour from a 999 or is there something I'm missing? Any suggestions?

  2. could need the TPS reset. Had this a couple of times on mine and after TPS reset it has been fine.

  4. TPS reset is 5 min job. Chat up workshop foreman to do it for a drink. Side panel (stand/battery side) needs to be removed to get to plug

  7. does it have the old style ignition coils? if so they could benefit from changing to the later ones....

    easy way to tell is early have the connection actually on them the later one have a fly lead with the connector further away in the loom...

  8. also a nice smear of silicon grease around the seal on the stick coil helps keep moisture out. Whip the front stick coil out and check for water/corrosion. Duke
