introduced myself earlier in the week, thanks for the replies,I actually understood some of them, now for the start of a load of questions, please bear with me I am new to all this but eager to learn open clutch covers for general riding-any advantages or just bling seen a lot of the 916.996.998 bikes with Termi exhausts fitted, any point ?any alternatives ? any mods to bike set up? any recommended suppliers ?,any used available? all just for general pottering around the Island Thanks
open clutch cover: gets rid of the dust build-up, keeps it cool. and yes bling. Termi is a must for ducati's race exhaust. sound better, a little bhp. although i did cheat, i had my normal can cored, and purchased a carbon cover, and a termi sticker. 1/4 of the price's. Termi race can for the 999 or 749 isnt cheap.
any suggestions about getting the suspension set up,bear in mind where I live and that we don't have access to services you mainland guys do Is it a job for the Ducati dealer,a race shop or someone who actually specialises in suspension thanks again for the replies guys
I'm sure there must be some one on the IoM who can do a basic set up (Preload/rebound/compression) As the crow flies Kais Motorcycle Suspension and Service - KAIS Ohlins UK is not a million miles away, they do basic set ups for £50. I had them do a stage 1 set up for me which was respring and revalve all to suit. Not cheap but its handles like a dream.
Dropping the yokes to 4 rings showing is popular. Quickens the steering a bit and makes the front feel more planted. I've got all the damping and preload almost as factory but I'm a tourer and 2up a fair bit. Specialist/raceshop job really plus suspension a very personal thing.
Closed clutch cover, cant stand the noise, would rather hear the exhaust than the tin of bolts banging around underneath your bollox
