I have a 2003 999 and the rear shock is in a bad way, I have sourced a good 2005 model (deep sump) shock, are they the same thing? Is it a straight swop? I don't want to buy it and find they are different lengths etc
I would say yes the same shock fits the old swing arm and the black one......i believe even the rocker and tie rod will be the same. they may well show up as different numbers for a later model but i did the swing arm change long time ago and all was the same....
