999 999r Engine Number Confusion Cleared Up...

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Exige, Oct 16, 2015.

  1. So, I have an engine number provided by a seller:
ZDM999SW****** to prove the engine is an R
It is commonly known that all 999 Ducati's other than R versions had 998cc engines and ZDM998W4****** engine numbers. But I now know this is not the case :)
Ducati have confirmed today that engine number left the factory as a 998cc 999S Ducati

Interesting to some perhaps :Finger:, but not to most :Shifty:

  2. Being a pedant has its advantages, so I guess a narrow escape ? That is from one pedant to another so no offence intended :). Andy

  3. No offence is ever taken or meant :D
But I don't know what a pendent is when expressed in such a manner :Wideyed:
    Give it to me :Dead:
Don't read that like Chris might :Hilarious:

  4. Total attention to detail and insistant that everything is just so - which is how it should be :upyeah:. Andy
