Pulled the covers off the Multistada today and started to clean it. Cannot remember the last time it was out as health problems and a stay in hospital in September cut my riding short last year. Bought the bike in June, had the 600 service done in August and still only done 780 miles. Will be needing the 1year service in a few months. Really looking forward to the weather getting better as I am a dry, pleasure only rider. It will be like having a new bike when I do venture out. Will be getting a MRA screen soon as I had one on my 2012 touring and it was a huge improvement. The 2013 standard screen is ok but I am a coupe of inches too tall for it.
Coolio. The decent weather has meant I can clean mine properly and acf it rather than keep applying fs after every ride
I don't ride my bike in the wet any more but it's a good idea to ride a bit in the cold. Saves you going a bit rusty !
Wishing you a healthy safe riding year Richard. Lets hope for many sunny dry days to enjoy the bikes!
think you will find it time/or mileage dependent, ie every 12m from registration or when the miles are done, whichever sooner
Having had a look at the Owners manual - it is ambiguous! But it shows 12 months maximum between ALL services including the 600 so I would say it is 12 months since it was last in at the dealers for ANY scheduled service, including the 600 (unless you do the specified mileage interval earlier). If you think about it that makes sense. So Richard your service is due in August and ijg5 in May. But I am not in the trade so Nelly or other dealerships may like to confirm this.
I'm just glad to see a break in the rain. After two months of fretting over whether or not I was going to be flooded, it looks like the flood risk has finally wained. It's been rather stressful.
i agree, May it is, and there will be nearly 7.5k by then anyway, which is the scheduled mileage for service..
Just a heads up, if you take your bike in for a service early or before the mileage is up, they can't reset the service light until it comes on. When I spoke to my dealer they said wait for the the 7k5 to tick over, and then get it serviced. Otherwise you have to take the bike back just to clear the service light. I had a service early on mine because I was off on a trip and knew it was going to be due a few days into the trip. They did it because I asked them to, but said they would have waited, even if it was 1k miles over. Whether this would have caused an issue I have no idea. If your 12 months is up and your near to the service mileage I would personally wait until the mileage says its due. The extra month (or even two) won't be a big deal. With respect to when the 12 months is from, its the last service. It makes no sense at all to be from registration date, not least because thats not when it was made and fluids added / belts fitted. It might have been in the dealer network for some time (like my 2012 bike, made some time after July 2012, sold to me in December 2013. First thing I did was change the brake fluid even though its only 1 month old from reg date).
