A Favour To Ask

  1. Many of you know I have a hobby around ECU reprogramming. I have just acquired a new piece of kit that promises to read the key transponders from Immo Boxes and IAW5AM HW610 and IAW5AM HW103 ECUs. Unfortunately all the IAW5AM ECUs I have have been virginised and I do not have any Immo Boxes. I am after a favour. Do you have an IAW5AM HW601 or HW103 that is coded or an Immo Box off of an ST4S or Monster (IMM006) that you can loan me? If you have an Immo Box do you have the keys (red and black?). The kit promises to be able to read both the red and black key transponders plus virginise the immo box and ECU. In return I can virginise the ECU/immo box as a thank you. I will return them by signed for post.

  6. Hi Chris,
I have an IMM006.04 unit from my 2003 registered ST4s, but it's from an IAW59M system. I don't have an IAW5AM ECU but have a spare IAW59M. I have red and black keys.
Is it of any use to you? Definitely willing to help out as you helped me with some ECU diagnosis last year.

Edit - P/N of the unit is 28640321A. Also has marking 501130090400.

  8. I have the standard ECU to match the standard pipes for my 998s ('02) somewhere in the loft if that is of any help.

If it is, let me know and i will dig it out in the next few days (need to sort some shit out up there anyway, and been putting it off)

  9. Your 998 uses the IAW59M. Thanks for the offer.

  11. Just spent an hour reading about Hex code and learning what the 'Special Functions' tab does. I have now identifed all 3 keys programmed to this particular immo box in a format that can be programmed to a T5 transponder. The format for the transponders is 7D 5F 00 00 00 XX XX XX.

  12. Is the 5am coded?

  13. Thanks for the offer but I need a coded ECU. Ducati John is letting me loose on his ECU stash on Saturday.

  18. Dashes are another thing. Might have to be a winter project.

As for the Immo Tool. I have found that for bikes that use the IMM006 Immo box I can read all 3 key transponder codes and reset the box to new.

For IAW5AM ECUs the kit can only restore the ECU to new and not read transponder codes. It is only a 1 button process so is much quicker that JPDiag Writer.

It would appear that the transponder info is in the dash for bikes not using the immo box.

I'm not an expert on hex code but this is the difference between a coded and virgin ECU. Anyone?

  19. Does any of this technical speak of which I don’t understand mean that you could turn off the service light on a 16DVT?

  20. You need to pay a visit to the JPDiag forum. Don’t know if JP has cracked the DVT though. My interest is IAW5* equipped bikes.
