A Ride Is Good For You

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by mike willis, Apr 9, 2023.

  1. I can relate to all of the above comments...after a session on my kwak 1000sx i feel like i've been on a meditation course, but after a session on my 916 i'm aching all over, its all dependant on the bikes ergonomics and could possibly be an age thing too, i aint gettin no younger!:D

  2. Honestly...Yoga..yoga..yoga..even if you can't get into the positions, the action of trying makes a difference...I challenge anyone to do 8 sessions and say they do not have positive results. It has been a genuine revelation for me.

  3. Interesting Maha....

  4. Funny you should say that. I want to take up yoga. I find it impossible to still my thoughts and concentrate on the here and now. I thought yoga might help. I've bought a mat and a couple of books but TBH I don't know where to start.

i did get out on my bike last week but we've had a cold period since and the council has smothered the roads in bloody salt again.

  5. You could join in with the yoga I do via zoom on a Friday morning at 9.30
Its not chucking yourself around it's the use of breathwork and movement together
    He uses the Alexander technique
He also does a Monday which is more physical
Your welcome to come along to see

  6. I keep telling my wife that a regular ride is good for me. She thought I was talking about the bike.

  7. I went to a Yoga Nidra class every week for nine years with tuition given by a Yoga Elder.I reached the stage in the relaxation and meditation stage where I could lose my chronic body pains completely.
I now use the same meditation in the morning to get me over chronic pain before my meds kick in.
This Yoga practice has been an eyeopener and saviour for me-I would have scoffed at it years ago as being complete hocus pocus.
    We live and learn.

  8. Tried yoga. Kept thinking "I don't have time for this, I've got to much to do". Didn't suit my busy life.

  14. I went out Sat for another couple of hours, my body felt better this time. I also found my mojo a bit. Had to shove the grip puppies back on though as my hands are pretty fucked. Few more and ill be okay again.
