A year on..... #58

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Freak, Oct 23, 2012.

  1. It's a year ago to the day when Marco was taken from us, such a talented and crazy guy. He was just starting to achieve the results that everyone expected him to.

I'll be honest I miss him! MotoGP lost one of it's biggest and newest stars that day.

    RIP Marco, never forgotten.

  2. He was immense. An enormous talent. And a fantastic character. This world is less of a place because of his absence.

    Never forgotten indeed.

  3. Hear, hear. Still feeling the sense of loss a year on.

  4. Yep, truly one of the most interesting riders to appear in GP for years. He had a massive personality, hair, ability and fun. Just wish he was still around to brighten things up a bit.

Such a sad loss. R.I.P. Marco, ciao, ciao

  5. It was such a tragedy to loose such a character as Marco.
It still haunts me seeing that awful incident last year on the telly.

RIP Marco, we will never forget you.

    Deaks

  6. RIP Marco
Can't believe a year has gone by.
One of the best up and coming talent taken far too early
    He gave Motogp it's sparkle
I still remember the day like yesterday

  7. My son races with the number 58 and has done for many years. When Marco passed away he really thought long and hard about changing his number out of respect. After a while he said "Dad, if I cant do the number justice and remind people of how fantastic Marco was I should not be racing" I do not think I could of put it better myself. Marco was a talent that I was fortunate to witness and one I dont think will be repeated in my life time.

  8. A great loss indeed and very much missed in the paddock. As always, my thoughts and best wishes are with his family and friends who miss the man, not just the racer. We all miss you Marco

  10. We bought a puppy last December - with his hair we just had to name him Marco as our little tribute

  13. A very sad loss.
With his "balls out" style of racing and his presence on track he reminded me very much of big DJ, another sad loss to the sport.
10 years in '03 since he died.

  14. Love this

  15. him on the duke..

the only real chance we would have had on some hope..

he would have wrestelled the MTF..er... :)

  16. Marco Simoncelli, big man truly unique; so talented, much loved, what a massive loss, never will be forgotten ....we all know what he was and would have become ....what a legend!

  17. Such a massive loss - I'll never forget the strength and courage of his parents at that awful time - bereavement is dreadful for anyone but a whole community suffered the loss of Marco.

    We all loved him

  18. I loved him..he was gonna be the next Rossi...Lorenzo et al were all whiney little bitches because they didnt like the fact that he was a balls out, blood and guts racer like Schwantz. Its incredible that he has made such a massive impression in the sport in so few years..he was just starting to get it together-a prodigious talent, a wonderful character...motogp is hollow without him, and without his friend Vale scrapping at the front.
    ciao Marco
