Looking to buy a 1200 Multi, 2013, that needs a new accelerometer sensor. Potentially several weeks before my local bike shop can fit so is this something that I can do at home? Has anyone done this before?
If you mean the one on the forks?, if you can work on bikes, it's a straight swap. But faffy with the wiring under the mudguard.
Yes that's the one, I think the wiring is under the beak? I assume no resetting of the instrument panel required?
Plug and play. Connections are under the lower yolk , sensors are down left fork bottom leg. Wiring runs through mudguard.
Common fault is for the wire to pinch in the lh headstock area where the stop block is that limits the handles turning left. Sensor might be fine. Check wiring first. After I soldered mine the world was.good again.
Thanks guys, didn't need it in the end as bought a different one - at last! Cool 200 mile ride home and I mean cool in both senses of the word!
