Ace cafe reunion

  1. Any multistradas doing the the Ace Cafe London to Brighton run on Sunday? I will see you there! :upyeah:

  2. I';d like to try and go but I've had a bugger of a week and I'm not sure if I will just be chilling out, sounds like a good day out. I live near Gatwick so I would probably pick it up as it came through our area - shame the route goes down the M23 and A23, I could give them some much better roads :)

  3. I'm not keen on big ride ins, a few years ago we got caught up in one to an Ace day on the coast and nearly got involved in a multibike pileup and witnessed another. Its good to get there half hour or so before and watch it arrive, you don't get caught in the queue to park up either. Might be going on my 999, will look out for a gaggle of Multis.

  4. Is it like deliberately seeking out a huge traffic jam to overheat your bike in?

Or am I missing the point?

  5. Glad it is but it is a good day on other end.

  6. i'm leaving from the ace on my 749 with a mate on an 848, i'll keep a look out for others

  7. I wouldn't worry too much about the route....no one is forcing you to take the mway....take a scenic ride and then pop in to Madeira drive and see what's going on!

  8. There are extensive roadworks on the A23 between Warninglid and Handcross with 40mph limits for several miles. This is causing very slow traffic movement so I can imagine that with the inevitable increase in traffic on Sunday this will slow things down quite a bit.

I will be going to Maderia drive on Sunday but will avoid the A23. I have an aversion to walking round in the hot sun carrying bike gear, so I take the car and park up nearby to Maderai drive and then walk .

Crawling along in very slow moving traffic is not what I want to be doing on a Ducati, the most problems occur just outside of Brighton and then all the way through the town into Maderia drive. It is very simple by looking at a map to completely avoid the chaos and drive/ride there without any hold ups.

Highly recommended is the 'Stunt shows' , listen out to the P.A to check their timings .

  10. Blufoot I must have been a few yards from you! Pity I just picked up this post now! I was the multi parked at the traffic light!

Great day out today, really had a good time! Met plenty of other multistrada s!

  11. Yeah had a great day too, done this ride many times but this time round we peeled off right at the roundabout with the petrol station on the outskirts of Brighton, highly recommended, no traffic at all.

As always, ride home was the highlight!
