1200 ACF 50

  1. I have just taken delivery of my new Multistrada and I am after some advice. I want to protect the bike and I am thinking about using ACF 50, has anybody used this product and was it effective?
Secondly is there any reason why I shouldn't use it.

  2. Worth having a read of this link: ACF 50. I have used it for the past two years on the Mutley with no problems whatsover and it seems to do the trick.

  3. it certainly helps and seems the majority of people choose this during the winter. It's much cheaper to buy in fluid form in the long run but of course you do have to find a way to apply which is far more convenient in the sealed can version. The fluid bottles come with a pump-up spray adaptor which works fine to begin with but will typically fail to work after around 6 months. Goes without saying to avoid discs/calipers tyres etc and rubber and some plastics are affected after prolonged exposure if it's ladled on thick.

  4. Used it for the past year and half on my MTS and ridden through one winter, great stuff if a little expensive. Bike still shines after a thorough clean.

  5. I have a compressor and apply this stuff ALL OVER the bike with a spray gun. I have it on a small cone setting with very little ACF-50 coming through.

I swear by the stuff, it's amazing.

People remark the bike looks filthy some times as I don't clean it much at the moment. But when I do they are stunned as everything is still looking brand new and untouched by alloy fur rust or nasty brown rust. It's just brilliant.

  6. Air compressor or poor mans version is a decent pesticide sprayer and buy in liquid form as it's cheaper. It works, just avoid the obvious as Chris advised.

  7. +1 for ACF-50.
It makes the bike look like it's just come back from a ride down to hell :)

  8. +1 for ACF 50
I run a Franchise of All Year Biker here in Ireland and I have to say that it really does make a difference.
Just make sure all surfaces are well prepared and free from any dirt, previous wax or polymers, well dried and once applied any surplus ACF 50 wiped off. As was said keep it well away from brakes and tyres. If the bike is properly treated it should be good for 8/10,000 miles.
There is plenty of information about ACF 50 on the net and indeed a full and detailed account of the product and treatment can be found at allyearbiker.co.uk.
