V4 Adaptive Cruise Control

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Travis Bickle, Apr 4, 2023.

  1. I'm not loving the adaptive cruise control! It just really does not suit my style of riding.

I know there's no way to turn it off in the menus but does anyone know if there's anything the dealer can do to deactivate the adaptive part?

If it's not possible to turn the adaptive part off completely, maybe it's possible to set the radar distance to something miniscule so it effectively doesn't target or react to anything in front?

I'm guessing simply putting something in the way of the front sensor would simply stop the cruise control working altogether?

Also 98mph being the maximum you can set is also slightly annoying, I can see genuine cases where I'd want to set it to a fair bit above this on the continent. Anyone know if this can be altered at the dealer also?

  2. I'm expecting some sarcastic comment like "why don't you ask the dealer?" but I'd be really interested to see:

    A) If anyone else has the same gripe as me, or if I'm the only one
    b) If anyone else in here has successfully managed to do something about it

  3. I don’t particularly like ACC on a car so I’m pretty sure I’d hate it on a bike!

  4. I’ve got acc on both bike and car. FWIW, the version on the bike is better than the car.

That said, I don’t use either much.

  5. I thought it could be turned off altogether.

  6. My understanding is that it is NOT possible to disable the adaptive element of the cruise control.

  7. I’m not sure that in this ever litigious environment we live in that Ducati would ever let you disable that function but have CC. Yes I’m looking at you America……..

  8. I would have thought that if you wanted to ‘cruise’ at more than 98mph you might not to want to be using cruise control but instead be in charge of your own destiny?

  9. Problem in the UK is there is just too much traffic for it to work effectively. Its continously slowing down because traffic fills the gap in front.
On French motorways with much less traffic it works far better.

  10. According to the small print, to be active, the adaptive cruise requires ABS to be set to 2 or 3 and Traction control ON. I infer from that, with ABS set on 1 and/or turning off your traction control will disable the adaptive cruise. Having just read through all the warnings and cautions in the handbook, the cruise control is not is something I’d use, far too invasive like slowing the bike in bends, based on angle of lean. 11. I love adaptive cruise control on my car, driving hours on autobahns you quickly realise you're never at a consistent speed even if you trundle in the slow lane. As a result, the cruise control on the 1260 is good but I rarely use it.

If anyone knows a way to retro fit adaptive cruise control to the 1260, I'm all ears!

  12. I use the ACC of my throttle hand. Totally reliable.

  13. I love ACC on my T6. I use it all the time. Not sure I'd use it on a bike though.

  14. If you buy a V4 Multi and take it to bits and fit all the parts to your 1260 that should work. In fact just remove the 1260 engine from your bike and fit it to a V4 chassis. Jobs a good un!

  15. Ime the smallest gap settings on ACC post a 2022 update is short enough to make me feel I can jump into the car infront’s boot should I be inclined to do so . If I’m in a “want” to ride that close to car/whatever in front I doubt that I’d be running in a manner that is cruise control suitable , I think the clue is in title.

  16. Ah, if sticking a V4 into the bike is the solution, I'll pass :D Really didn't get on with it on my test rides :( But, maybe in a few years once the fuelling is sorted

  17. The fuelling isn't an issue - it's the amount it uses that is the issue :)

  19. The fuelling?! Go and have another go on one, the fuelling is spot on, on the V4!
