Decided to see what all the hype is about so bought a 12,000 mile 2004 CBR1000RR, but really its to save the 998S from the ravages of our miserable climate and give me an everyday kind of sportsbike . Now while it has none of the aura, glamour or vices of the Ducati, it really is an quite a weapon that can make an average rider look good, and a good rider look awsome. Anyway no more hyperbole:biggrin:
Very nice, they are the Dogs ! I had a twin headlight very early one for all too brief a period. It was a superb bike, althogh the 16in front wheel took some getting used to ! Enjoy !
I had the RR4 too. Aces bike. Rode all the way to the south of France and back and it was all day comfortable. And bloody quick too
great bike. I had GSXRs and ZX10 and they are fine machines, reliable etc. But not the bike I would search for on a Sunday morning.. Exactly your point for sparing the 998S
Me too. Comfy, very fast and easy to ride. Oh and booooring after a while at least you have a proper bike in the garage too
Nice bike u got there, I used to have one and no probs apart from alternator/rectifier issue, if the clocks play up or it stalls its not the battery it's either the rec or the alternator. Good thing also is that Honda do a plug in alarm and it only takes half hour to install. Enjoy it
Mine chucked its stator too...they all do hat sir! If i remeber correctly, you can take a rubber tube off the airbox, blank it with a self taper and relase the flapper valve to stay open all the time...never convinced it had more go but the noise from the induction was lush!
Yes agree it got boring after a while so much I part ex it for a 08 z1000 with laser exhausts but missed the sports bike feeling so much I swapped the z for zx10r 04 model...happiness resumed. Problem being the blade did everything right and had no soul and when u ride a bike you want to feel part of it.
