Hey I just received my additional lights kit bought off eBay (picture of the kit here https://www.kfm-motorraeder.de/cms/en/genuine-spare-parts/ducati-spare-parts?itemid=96680833A). I've fitted the holders each side of the radiator, found were to plug the wire, now I need to connect the wire to the light themselves. Oh surprise: these are two male connector ! I do not see any male to male bridge in the kit. Question is simple: am I being daft? If this a known issue with the kit and I need to create the connection myself? Thanks for the input
Did you get the full installation kit? Looks like you are short of wiring. https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_info.php?products_id=471681#prettyPhoto Found these instructions for the part number 96680431A https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwMhCNtmur8ES3hZOWZlZEV4OTA/view Has there been a specification change depending on year? For the part number you quote these are the compatible bikes MULTISTRADA 1200 ENDURO 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 MULTISTRADA 1260 ENDURO 2019, 2020, 2021
Thanks for the link, found the problem. the wire I should have gotten is female: Of course I received male... I’ll try to negotiate a rebate with the seller, clearly something wrong there. thanks a bunch for the link !
The connectors are female both side. Here is a cheap source for the connectors. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263873679303
Ok so now I’ve changed the connector for waterproof ones (with the yellow silicon joint, just like the fuel tank electronics once). I’ve wired up everything, and of course no light. Turns out I’ve got 12 V coming out of the red as expected, but nothing coming out of the white/green wire, which as I understand it is linked to the anti fog light command on the handlebar. Is there a trick for that anti fog light commodo to work ? Any known thing I’ve got to do like wire it to the loom? thanks
Yes they need to be activated by a dealer, or at least someone with the correct Texa (or similar) software unit Ducati never miss a trick to charge more
Oh my god ... well I’ll just put the two wire together until I get this activated. The dealer told me I should not have any issue he was wrong I guess Won’t be hard to reverse that. Thanks guys !
Yes you need the light to get activated by the dealer. Also when buying, make sure you get the expected connectors. That will avoid you spending time changing them to make a DIY connexion. cheers
