899 Adjusting Chain Tension On Paddock Stand?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Matias, Apr 8, 2016.

  1. Hi,

For the 899, wherever I look, I only find instructions on how to measure and adjust the chain tension when the bike is placed on its side stand. I find this a bit impractical since, in my opinion, it´s easier to adjust the chain with the bike on a paddock stand. (It is easier to find the point on the chain with the most tension, and it is also easier to move the wheel.). For the 899, the chain tension is specified to 49-51mm. My question is, would it be possible to adjust the chain tension with the 899 on a paddock stand and would it be possible to use the same specified chain play(49-51mm)?

    Thanks

    Matias

  2. Adjust the chain on the paddock stand and on the first time measure the chain movement on the sidestand. With experience you will know what the measurement needs to be on the paddock stand. Andy
