Should I get the ride height adjusted when I pick up my new 848 or leave alone. I could do with it being dropped 1" but I've read that this can have an impact on the bike. Is this true?
yeah dropping the height of the bike causes poorer turning ..toes scraping along the ground in mild corners and if on track the fairings and engine casing will touch down on tarmac too...ive never driven an 848 so really dont know how high the setting is....an inch is a lot tho...but if it is a high ride height setting an inch might b ok..just one of those things to try id say....id go for 5mm incriments if i was you..mayb 10mm at the most and take it from there dropping the forks too will help too if yer gonna be fiddling with the back end..again small incriments
does it have a ride height adjuster...............or would you have to fit an after market one? of course as said above you could lower the front to achieve your aim of a lower bike plus it would be going in the right direction for set up........potentially!
You can only adjust in by mm's as standard. I had my suspension adjusted/sorted to get it dropped by a couple of inches. But it rides like a dream
I had mine lowered by professionals. It is quite a bit lower now (a couple of inches) and there is actually some rebound damping now (which there wasn't when I got the bike). Kais suspension are good if you fancy a trip out to the North West.
I had mine lowered by Kais - they did a good job, even to the point that they alter the height of the stand so it sits right when you park up
Yes they did a great job on mine. It feels like a different bike. Much easier and more fun to ride, and I can reach the floor now
These guys did mine and the bikes of a few people i know, Really changed the way my 848 rode. Revs Suspension Services And they are nice and local to you in Halesowen just down the road from Streetbike.
