Hi all, So, I am lucky enough to already be a member of the hypermotard family, with a nice 1100s in the garage. I'm just wondering if it would be worth moving to a newer 939sp? What would I miss? And what would I gain? Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated.
You'd miss the torque, but gain hp. My riding style these days gels well with torquey engines. No need to do a St. Vitus' dance on the gear lever to pass cars on an 1100 - just open up and wheelie past
I had to Google what a St Vitus dance was, that did make me laugh! The torque would be a huge loss, I was sort of hoping that the 939 would be quite close to the old 1100 in that respect. I haven't ridden any of the more modern hypers, and with the release of the 950 the prices of 939's with all the trick bits already on are looking very appealing.
Got to admit, a 939 SP is a very trick bit of kit. I'd have one in a heartbeat As for the 950 SP... mmmmmmnnnnnnnn...
Yes, that would be the smart thing to do, rather than what I usually do, which is just turn up and buy before I've even ridden them. I'll have a look and see what is local and go and have a go.
Yep - thats me too...just think " i want that one " and deal with it....its not really led me wrong yet....and the one and only time i did to a test ride i didnt like it. Having said that the new 950sp is really nice but im not sure id want to sacrifice the noise, grunt and procession that comes with my old hyper.
