I will be selling my SF848 soon,Is it best to put it back to standard and sell the aftermarket cans and other add on goodies,or sell it complete as is? i am sure there must be owners of Ducatis out there who have found the best way through experience.I would be interested in hearing your views.Thankyou.
Depends. You will make more cash selling separately BUT leave the cans on and it will sell quicker imo
Don't really want to sell it.Something a lot lighter and lower is probably a better bike for me now.Would like to stick with Ducati though.Perhaps a monster or a scrambler might fit the bill.I still have my MH tucked up in the garage.Who knows when I might go for a wobble around on that.
Funny you should say that El Toro. After 7 months of not riding a bike I was up for a ride last friday.I got kitted up and thought I would ride over to my Ducati dealer for a look see at the scrambler.I am just about to leave the house when Mrs Mervyn appeared.'You are not to go to the Ducati dealer and look at bikes. It is too far to go for your first ride.Just do your local circuit and see how you feel.'Of course she was right i will work up to a visit to the dealer and see what all this 'Scrambler' excitement is all about.
I feel that we should be reminded of the meaning of this word...:Banghead: excitement noun a feeling of great enthusiasm and eagerness. "her cheeks were flushed with excitement" Not sure if this should be applied to "The Scrambler"....but I'm sure others will disagree.
Well I am stuck between trying to be realistic as to what I can handle, and that little devil that sits on my shoulder egging me on get something completely outrageous.I look at some of the bikes around today and think 'Wow' I would like one of those. Then along comes the thought that perhaps I am being a bit daft at even contemplating such a machine. anyway it doesn't cost anything to dream, does it?
It is a standard red SF848 with Termis and a few bits and pieces.Very low mileage and not long serviced.I can email you pics, once I have found some ,if you like?
Wait a month or two and ET will have a 'low mileage, one owner, only used on Sundays' Scrambler for sale...
mervyn what has happened to you that your having diffs with the sf ? injury? I saw the scrambler at Belfast show and they look like back to basics simple fun, id love one for when I want a laid back no hassle relaxing spin . or what about the sc gt 1000
On a good day I do not have the strength or energy to do a great deal.Something lighter and easier for me to move around and ride would be more sensible for me.I did have both the SC1000s and the GT1000 Tourer a couple of years back.Loved both the bikes.I will get to see the Scrambler, havn't seen one yet.I don't mind basics if it means I get to ride a bike.
mervyn sorry to hear that,my health has had a rough three years due to gallstones blocked bile duct and a couple of episodes of pancreatitis leading to pretty constant pain....for the first couple years I was constantly worn out and had chronic fatigue...BUT getting there slowly, ironically iv had to lay off the booze, but have plenty of legal drugs lol.hope you get there mate. basics aint a bad thing, its the fun factor and as you say being able to ride a bike again, get well soon...
oh also mervyn I would sell bike with everything included for the appropriate higher price, if that doesn't work then strip and sell parts and stick bike on gumtree or here on duc forum.advertise with and without parts price maybe.
Glad you are getting there, albeit slowly, after what sounds like a pretty torrid time.Thank god for legal drugs,eh.I sold a Triton last week and was very sorry to see it go.Funnily I had never ridden it.I miss very much the riding out with mates that I used to do,but heh ho,I do have a lot to be thankful for. Hope your recovery goes from strength to strength.
same to you...makes you realise how precious the nhs is.....stick up some pics of the triton if you can.
Agree entirely about the nhs and what they do for us all.Long may it be so.I will see what pics I can sort out tomorrow, brain is shutting down now.
