Hi my name is numpty (nick) and I ride a Cagiva Gran Canyon, the model with the 900 ss engine in it. I live near Teignmouth in Devon. I have just purchased it, two days ago, and took it for a ride and it ran perfectly. When I got home I put about 100ml STP petrol injector cleaner in the tank and the next time I rode it, about an hour later, it stopped running after about a mile. It kept starting but each time stopped almost immediately. I left it for about an hour it then started and it got me back home. Now it will not start and I am wondering whether the STP has been the cause of my problems? Any advice will be appreciated but I am not mechanical hence "numpty". Cheers.
Pretty sure you should run that stuff out of the tank/fuel system as soon as possible. You don't want it lingering around. As its like an acid cleaner for carbonized soot.
