  1. On your link it says “To install, you must disassemble the OEM cap and replace the top section with our AEM Factory version.”
Two of the five bolts on your cap will be dummys with no function other than aesthetic. Take the old cap off. Undo the bolts holding the cap on and swap over. Bolt new assembly on with the three bolts. Enjoy.

  2. Really don't think it's that simple - but thanks anyway

  4. Take the cap off your tank and you will see. It really should be that easy.

  5. I've been told that you have to remove the lower dash, loosen the tank cover, take panels off - just wanted a bit of a step by step. Don't like doing jobs blind - takes a couple of hours apparently. I know the replacement used the base of the OEM fuel cap - it's just the strip down sequence I'm unsure of. On some models it really is a case of 5 bolts and cap off - not on the Diavel though, typical.

  6. Ah. Can’t help there. Zero experience of Diavels.

  7. No problem mate - I guessed that by the 'just take the cap off'... If only it were that easy, virtually zero on youtube but from what I've been told it's side panels and air ducts off, lower dash off and to one side, tank loosened...trust me to pick the hardest bike to work on!

  8. @perry clarke can you post a picture of the cap the other way up ? I used a Spider qr cap on our first gen Diavel and that was a simple unbolt. The AEM cap looks very different. Andy

  9. Hello mate, yeah thanks....Conquest sent me a video basically showing how to attach the new to the base of the old, but not how to get the old off.

Here's the vid so this bit seems ok...
    Here's the underside IMG20240420132109.jpg

  10. Pretty sure I’ve still got the original tank cap, I’ll see if I can find it. Andy

  11. Here’s a photo of the underside or the std fuel cap. Looks like the 3 fixing holes you have on your new cap will screw into the 3 aligning holes.

  12. Cheers, appreciate that. Hopefully when I get it all off it'll be clearer, beginning to wish I'd kept my money in my pocket now!

  15. I think someone is messing with you
Why would you take panels off etc unless you were taking the tank off?
It looks simple enough of one cap off the other cap on

  16. It's not quite that straightforward IIRC. The 2 drain/breather pipes are located on the sides of the petrol cap assembly and they exit under the petrol tank cover. Still looking for the whole cap assembly I sure I've still got. Andy
