Dear all, As promised, fresh from finally resolving one simple issue, I have another! Am looking to add some after market indicators onto my Panigale V2, and have now dismantled the OEM indicators and tail. There doesnt appear to be much space to neatly attach the after market replacements which have a standard 8mm fixing attached. two questions for you: 1) anyone used/made an adapter for a neat fix? closest I could find was this: https://reactiveparts.com/cnc-racing-turn-signal-mounting-adaptors-for-license-plate-holders.html, anyone have any experience of it or similar? 2) simple wiring query, OEM has two wires, a green/white and a black, replacements have three, an 'inidicator', '12v live', and a 'ground'. ill probably get something like this (cheaper version on ebay) https://reactiveparts.com/cnc-racing-ducati-indicator-adaptor-cable.html to ensure I can return back to originals should I need to. I will be splicing in a resistor at the correct points, but before I trawl online, any quick experience on how to wire these in? Thanks!
1) I think the Rizoma adapters may work - see https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11488069...eBJLfg9kj4ffnfJuOsZPcE2dtWXUp2fgaAqY1EALw_wcB Also I'd suggest finding an alternate supplier for the CNC parts if you have to go that way. 2) the wiring adapters you have are for a 2 bullets to 2-pin connection. I don't know how the 3 wire indicators you are looking at work but those adapters aren't going to do the job. I don't understand why they have a permanent live connection - never seen that before. Also you shouldn't need a resistor on a Panigale v2 I don't think. The stock indicators (at least on my Bayliss) weren't the smallest/slimmest but they are led. If you want a standard set of v2 led indicators I have a couple of sets and would part with one set for very small coin. If you want the sequential type I'd suggest just biting the bullet and going for the Ducati performance "dynamic" ones. You can usually find them for around £85 or so on eBay.
thanks for the offer, have already got the aftermarket ones - managed to get a good deal whilst travelling during the sales! agree, really not sure how they've labelled the leads, have written to ask for some guidance, so will see what they say. I suspect one is an additional earth for the metal case? dont think ive used reactive parts before, they just popped up in google - sounds like a bit of a story there..?
That explains the 3 wire set up, US style (and new BMW), dual use indicator and brake set up. Not sure I know of a way of fixing other than using something like your first link. Andy
I've checked the wiring for the indicators and they are do seem to need a switched live. Probably be able to find one under the seat - maybe taking it from the tail-light live feed but frankly, I can't see any advantage of using these indicators over the Ducati dynamic led ones. I have fitted the latter to my Bayliss and subsequently to my v4 and they work very well. They are just as slim, sequential and have the mounting and connector. Just my 2c
The indicator only option doesn't have brake light of course but still needs 3-wires. The brake light / rear light / indicator has 5 wires.
They have two versions, one is dual indicator + brake use, the other is indicator only. I have the indicator only.
Isn’t the permanent live wire for use as running lights in the US market etc? Just wire them up without using it.
They have another option for that it seems. The indicator only version only seems to provide indicator function as you'd expect.
Ahh - if you already have them then there's no harm in just trying the experiment of a lash-up to wire them without the switched live. The install documentation suggests this won't work but it's worth a try and I doubt it can do any harm to try unless their switching circuit is REALLY badly designed.
