848 Aftermarket Screen Recommendations

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Tel, Feb 15, 2015.

  1. Whilst cleaning my 848 earlier I noticed that my screen has cracked around one of the bolt holes (lower left). This is the second time that I've had this happen so probably going to replace with aftermarket this time.

Has anyone got any recommendations or pics?

  2. I had one from power bronze, they also did it in a colour of my choice, they normally only do smoke or dark tint.
The only thing with the power bronze one was that one of the holes in the screen was slightly out of alignment but it still fitted.
I have a Puig on my 1199 that looks really nice not sure if they make one for the 848 though.

See below, red screen on my old 848 Evo, dark tint Puig on 1199

  3. + 1 for power bronze" mine came with it on and have no intentions of changing it.

  4. Hmmm, that sounds cheap. Just be careful with those things. Lots of research has gone it to screens over the years, especially on how the break (or not) when hit by an object. Last thing you want is broken glass like plastic coming at your neck...!

I have the Ducati Performance and a Corse screens for my bike, but they're both almost impossible to get now. I did ave MRA make a couple of screens for another bike I have, and the quality really is excellent and I'd happily buy more again.

Here are some other options for you:

Puig (very similar to Ducati Performance screen)
Puig For the bike model Ducati 848 2009 | Puig

    Fabbri Screens
    FABBRI "Solo Pista" Windscreen: 1198/1098/848

    Zero Gravity
    Windscreen Innovators - Zero Gravity

  5. @Cupid Stunt, was your 848 for sale about a year ago at a triumph dealers? I remember looking at one very similar when I was 848 hunting. :)

  6. Don't know mate, I traded mine in at P&H at the end of 2013 (November) I would have thought who ever bought it would have kept it, it was a good bike well looked after from new by me.

  7. The Puig ones seem to be quite popular. Ordinarily I would try to get a DP one but realise that they'll be hard to come by nowadays. The only thing that I am apprehensive about aftermarket is the potential of it not protecting the instrument cluster as well as standard as I've heard some stories about melted instruments

  8. Well PUIG is fitted on my 1199s and I would say it is very good quality, Power bronze one was fitted on my 848 Evo for 2 n half years and nothing went wrong with my instrument cluster so I think that is evidence in favour.

  9. That's not a problem in West Yorkshire! ;)

  10. I had a fabbri screen on my old cbr600rr and it melted the instrument surround twice. Although the quality was spot on haha.

I've got a ducati peformance screen on my 848 and it fits perfectly can't comment on any others though sorry

  11. Like the look of the DP one above. Was unsure about having a taller screen but looks good to me.

  12. I've got a tinted Zero gravity double bubble on my pearl 848.
Excellent fit and looks good too.

  13. We have been testing and using Puig for some years on Ducati and MV Agusta Superbikes and they are fantastic quality and well priced, the tinted lower quarter of the screens blends in well making it look almost OEM.

  14. I've got a Zero Gravity one as well. The Corse in light smoke to be precise. It replaces the MRA that was previously on my 848. With the MRA the airflow directly hit the vents on my helmet in normal riding making a hell of racket :/
Quality seems excellent and fit and finish is good.

  15. Just reviving this Thread, need a new screen look at power bronze & air blade.. Just seeing if here's any others around to £40-50 mark I should be looking at....
