Just had a decat fitted (courtesy of BHP UK), and while it's definitely got more growl on idle and low revs it's not fully satisfying that yobo itch around mid-high RPMs. So I'm looking at an aftermarket silencer. As far as I can tell, the only two companies who do silencers for this bike are QD and Termignoni. Or have I got that wrong? Are there any others I have overlooked? Anyone on here got any experience and preferably some clips of an aftermarket pipe on their Multi V4? I wanna go louder but not too loud like my old MT-10 SP was (stubby can from Black Widow). The Termignoni looks like it might be the more civilised of the two options due to having two smaller outlets instead of one large one? Thought/input welcome!
Oh cool. I didn't realise Arrow done one for this bike. It looks very similar to the stock Akrapovic one, however. Would it be fair to assume a fairly similar volume compared side by side?
There is a thread somewhere on exhausts which has a list. But easier for you to get a slip on from one of the guys who have a Multi V4S Sport or Pikes Peak, most of them would have swapped for a full system anyway...
There doesn't seem to be any difference in volume in the standard can and the Akro that comes on the Sport and PP. Just cosmetic . The dealer reckoned that the standard exhaust was made by Akro.
Sorry I should have mentioned I have a Pikes Peak so already have the 'stock' Akrapovic end can which looks identical to the end can that comes with the genuine accessories £3,500 full race system from Ducati/Akrapovic. I imagine there's little to no noticeable sound difference between the 'stock' Akrapovic end can and the full race system Akrapovic end can, and that any noticeable sound difference on the full race system probably comes from the de-cat? So I'm looking to ditch the 'stock' Akrapovic end can for something louder, preferably with a baffle I can put back in on long tours and at MOT time. I learned in here that Arrow do an end can for it but also looking on Ebay I found two more companies that do one (I never heard of either) called Mivv and Zard: Arrow: https://www.arrow.it/en/assembled/1817/Ducati-Multistrada-V4-1100-2021-2023 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364193217179?hash=item54cb9b7a9b:gbYAAOSwqSlkHWxD&amdata=enc:AQAIAAAA8Mxrrw1AAK7kD0Sbdrfu+FQD+cgek32IE3ld1reDPYNyKKfFEK0iVns2Uy3biS0toJmoP5FFWcAMcBDRY5nwvhXC1dFbjrMnMOIS+nnmnX/vhZ2JPu48ZeTG+GMYIzyWiGzyGu4U1M5HnupP5Vh8QZsWA7svaCnfPe4YLr45BWQz/NS7qARPD8GB8jpEbGD5u7d3nlC5zO1iKyI0REp13nlrJsLUC/4byKrggv25lzovVEX5Pjs5O7NppL7va9GvZXr01KlrCRW43Xd2Vr3jj3uCDssLWkp48C5kw2NJ7mFguFTIew/KMWreDTdap8blFA==|tkp:Bk9SR4SnoZfuYQ Mivv: https://mivv.com/en/exhaust/d-052-l8-ducati-multistrada-v4-1100-s-2021-2022/ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404235537073?epid=21058312650&hash=item5e1e50cab1:g:SpQAAOSwvZhkMCv9&amdata=enc:AQAIAAAA8NT47Scn6kWrROVWsGe3f/lb6nu1DXc8FDD5pXIfq6h5DaV4t7T9S3UFLkT2iw2amEW+ANm986OZG+4RrX0F1Rfl6jcOcfIMpJZ+d1PwFtWm34PppsYX5VDkVev3ix5Mn2lGLdmQr0BXihlJZFAx16O6mpfjX6kKYlPEuTiN06l4dVEFYQRz0wx3Zm13FvvicbXAQWGKBE2aeE3A1N0HNIW7kUn4MBDxgyM7rd80Elp0qUMgeSdV5yq99lXi9M86r5ieNsFKbaOnS7I5ZtubqVg/eqF4nG24U3wm85CqLpMXPbNVeyzVbao/C6zpq40nlg==|tkp:Bk9SR5ikpJfuYQ QD: https://www.qdexhaust.it/en/catalog...n/multistrada-v4-slip-on-gunshot-dark-matter/ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402987637234?hash=item5dd3ef59f2:g:SeQAAOSw30Fg7BZu&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAA8I5GsTi6/jQfF85ZAJLceufub8IsxBZ3BPN4ehMAntNe7Ya91Ik/MzeT82CX9HPRzemu42XxBy+659JfZ2sJ3O4U3IgSaJgWyVSLlrUFB8KgL1HEkreIloC0jFjmyd2PvHdHWGbVQpsohpzHpeBDNNNXReii0NIGrKOQtyZSLmWe12rgz/q/bq+/A8ll1K4/vrHXlfSt9oyJzl0HNr9SOsRZ2iIbP/8N6B/Z/Had6k5yGKcCpee+7dyPr92SRcGbQ4vkXWNksOaHZzw8xZjRoyYXYv3Cz8oVcCG1FSQRJQEoSQvE0/NEMAQ8pExV0xfJcA==|tkp:Bk9SR4qHzpnuYQ Termignoni: https://termignoni.store/en/multist...rbon-for-ducati-multistrada-v4-2021-2023.html https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144557983759?hash=item21a853c80f:g:HUUAAOSwHSxigvBV&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAA8PVL3OyjG/QLWKDsyKX21TPprFJGLm/meUoMJedDHsjoJfZoFmrOMTILPxBcd6MldREpCHREAnTRznT/brnEJxim1dnWF2oWz9521L76EA/z1besme9dd3tKLh1IgSeBTXhta2tX4SP4qcqBvZALC+pzxtnAOTmAmuQVE3OnNj4DHO8rvdpAV8tyR3ghE9+ufDNQYq5crEfwxdPo4knrDmmbNqKXWyg2Oocp+WDM0vrzr/KquouFg+Vet9iprIoijMMibGDmKbPzZ8kxi7elYdZ6lvDqhxNm2xo8ICtLcE/6ibISUq4fYHlwhQrnSh0Wwg==|tkp:Bk9SR9C9ppfuYQ Zard: https://shop.officineitalianezard.it/en/zard-exhaust-ducati-multistrada-v4/ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125814715521?hash=item1d4b243481:g:uQcAAOSwjSVkDFCP&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAA8EYBnVDGzQbS2NOQy27d2MWjs5DV3RciiycekvHfekoZqD3J2QXKjQedGZmFso2P7Abd/OuOiidtK+Fo6XGisvG1hMyqouMapeBwh2f/1z2gp5ozMacH2iqjXmBx1cfNSD7D8ndSu20APzHau3H7f1fzynPNXGQnet5Qn1d63qXEgj80ABRJ7e87Z4ZoeQeyFVj7KH+Erk5Bm7lcpkutmVF0oD/QcybEO8FGPZO4LtGeMcD6Ev8byLujD6tWS1CRxxZrLpFWT/3afbSDKNv71fro4EhbSYGTaHS7BXzRaNXv2bx30KXT+ABn+1xiwld7Tg==|tkp:Bk9SR7LDqZfuYQ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125814715521?hash=item1d4b243481:g:uQcAAOSwjSVkDFCP&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAA8EYBnVDGzQbS2NOQy27d2MWjs5DV3RciiycekvHfekoZqD3J2QXKjQedGZmFso2P7Abd/OuOiidtK+Fo6XGisvG1hMyqouMapeBwh2f/1z2gp5ozMacH2iqjXmBx1cfNSD7D8ndSu20APzHau3H7f1fzynPNXGQnet5Qn1d63qXEgj80ABRJ7e87Z4ZoeQeyFVj7KH+Erk5Bm7lcpkutmVF0oD/QcybEO8FGPZO4LtGeMcD6Ev8byLujD6tWS1CRxxZrLpFWT/3afbSDKNv71fro4EhbSYGTaHS7BXzRaNXv2bx30KXT+ABn+1xiwld7Tg==|tkp:Bk9SR7LDqZfuYQ Would you guys mind giving me your thoughts? The Arrow and the Zard both advertise that they have a removable DB killer. Looking at the photos I’m fairly sure the Mivv does too, but it’s not mentioned on their website (although one Ebay seller mentions a DB killer, although does not say whether it's removable or not). Pretty sure the QD and the Termignoni both have no option to remove a DB killer due to the cheese grater mesh at the end (similar to the Akrapovic options, which I'm not a fan of aesthetically anyway). The Mivv looks like the stumpiest to me (possibly the loudest?) and looks like it has a removable DB killer I can put back in on long tours, so might be the one to go for. The QD looks second shortest (possibly second loudest?) but no DB killer. The Arrow and the Zard look similar size to the original Akrapovic end can (possibly similar noise levels with their baffles in place?). The Termignoni looks the longest, and with two smaller pipes instead of one large one (and no removable DB killer), possibly the quietest of them all? I’m thinking go as loud as possible (as it doesn’t seem to be an overly loud engine anyway, in comparison to my old MT-10 SP) and I still have the option to put the baffles back in when I go on longer tours. So, what do you think?
I have the full race system on my bike. The end cans are different. The full race can has 2 inlet pipes whereas the slip on has a single inlet pipe. But I dont know anyone who is running the race cat with the standard slip-on and not sure how that would sound or compare but there are a couple of people who are running the Akra slip-on with QD decat or some such combo...
All of those look shit, IMO. Apart from the Arrow, and Termi, I guess, but why would you want to downgrade from the Akra? You’ve come this far, just get the full Ducati system, which comes with the map, and you get to keep your warranty. The baffles are removable, so get them out straight away (it’s a bit of a job once the bike has been run with them in). If you want it even louder than that, you’ve bought the wrong bike.
Yeah I take what you're saying but the race system is on back order with no delivery date, and because of this I've already invested around £1,600 on the BHP de-cat and map flasher. Looks are subjective and personally at the bottom of my list of priorities. Above that is the amusement I get from a yobbish exhaust. Personally I think the Akrapoviv, QD and Termignoni look like gash. I like the style of the Mivv but admit it doesn't look right on this bike. The Arrow wins it for me on looks. Like I said though if the Mivv is going to be the loudest but with the option of having the baffle in, that's the one I'd be tempted to go for. I know the race Akrapovic has two inlets as opposed to one I was just commenting that (number of inlet pipes aside) they do look identical and I wouldn't be surprised if they sound indistinguishable from each other and that the de-cat is making the only noticeable difference in sound. To your point about buying the wrong bike - everything else about the bike is perfect for me. It's a compromise I have to make. But if I can get a bit closer to the thrills I was getting from the MT-10 exhaust note, I'm happy to 'downgrade' the end can.
I can't see how you will get it louder than the BHP video. Its not a race bike. I didnt think there was much silencing in the Akra end can.
I wonder if you are going to get the result you want from any of the options. I've got the full system and whilst it's got a better sound than the standard system, it's nowhere near as throaty as the full system on either the 1200 or 1260. I don't know if two inlets makes much difference to the full system, it doesn't appear to. Have you considered taking out some of the silencing in the standard silencer? It would be a job to do, but not overly complicated and a lot cheaper than getting a new silencer that doesn't seem to give you anything more than you currently have. That might just get you the sound you are after.
There is a YouTube video of someone dissecting the Akra end can. There is very little in there to remove that will make a difference.
I'd be interested to see a link. I've seen the ones that refer to the DB killers and whilst I've removed mine, I can't say I've heard much of a difference. I'm assuming the baffles are straight through, but would like to see confirmation. One other thing to point out, previous systems (Termi 1200 & 1260) didn't change much in terms of volume as they got older. Akrapovic systems I've had on other bikes, both twins and fours, did. To the point that the single pipe I had on an RSV track bike needed repacking as it would have failed noise tests.
I'm going to have a look at my single outlet pipe over the weekend. I'll poke something down it to see if the baffles are straight through.
That's awesome! I'll do that! LOL Just goes to prove that the Akrapovic end can is muffling the sound substantially.
