Air In Clutch

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by magpie21, Oct 22, 2015.

  1. I keep getting air into the clutch and have no idea where its coming from. I have changed the M/C as I thought that is was getting in there but the problem has come back. I can't see any fluid anywhere and all the bolts are tight. Any suggestions?

  2. If you've changed the MC, that just leaves the slave cylinder surely. If your line or fluid resevoir were leaking, I think that would show up quickly.

  3. Might be the slave o-ring?

  4. Like already said suspect slave cyl. gets full of chain grease and shite down there, good mod is it fit the Oberon with 1mm bigger piston diameter ....gives a slightly lighter feel to the lever .

  5. Cheers guys, can't see anything behind it. It already has the Ducati Performance slave cylinder fitted. Will take it in to get it looked at.

  6. If you bought the bike new and have replaced the bleed nipples, or it's a pre-owned bike, check the bleed nipples haven't been replaced and actually seat correctly. As discussed elsewhere on the forum, the chamfered end can have the wrong profile to seat correctly, letting air in and the only sign can be a tiny weep from the base, or a drop of fluid showing in the nipple that most times you'd put down to having bled the system.

  7. This could be a good shout, with only the bleed nipple on your slave to check. The master cylinder nipple should be OK having changed it, unless you used the original nipple.
