That doesn't look standard to me. It looks like that's where the standard hose from the crankcase breather would connect to the Airbox, but a previous owner has removed the standard system and fitted a filter or catch tank to the breather instead. The plug is something they had that just happens to fit the hole, possibly an Oil filler cap.
