1200 DVT Ais Removal

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by JohnoDuc, Mar 4, 2022.

  1. Has anyone removed the AIS from there DVT and blanked it off. I have heard that is my can cause stalling but also that it runs better when fitted with a full exhaust system.

  2. I had to replace the aiss, it didn't give a fault on the screen, but it did fail when I wanted to, as if the spark plug ran out of power, and this happened to me once while overtaking, and I was in great danger

  3. It’s the canister that sits at the front of the engine. It’s job it to recirculate un burnt fuel.

  4. AIS VALVE, similar to the ERG valves of the diesels, but for the recirculation or injection of the gases back into the cylinder, it is a cheap piece, but it failed me, and until they discovered where the failure came from when I wanted, the motorcycle failed and It stopped, and I was with the fault for more than 2 months

  5. no, I think this is not the same. Isn’t the canister just a crankcase breather?

  6. correct, the canister is just a fuel vent for the gasoline gases to be burned, this AISS valve is more of a recirculation valve for burned

  7. I think the canister is something to do with the EVAP system after looking at a diagram.

  8. I would be tempted to remove the AIS as I have some pretty “interesting” back firing since I fitted the full Akra system.

Looking at the AIS it should not cause any idle problems or stalling is decommissioned properly. But I can imagine that removing the AIS causes a vacuum leak if not done correctly which might cause idling or stalling issues since it could make the idle mixture more lean.
