  1. Hey all, just wondering if anyone has the Akropovic on their bike, there seems to be quite a big price difference, is it worth it, or they are all about the same

  2. Full akra and remap on mine and have noticed a good improvement in the midrange over the standard termi end cans and upmap, dont think the end cans only are any better or worse than the termis i think its more about looks.

  3. I do prefer the Akropovics, but they are 1k more for just the end cans :(

  4. I've got the termi end cans and up map on mine and love it, the carbon front exit termi's look wicked though and i think they're cheaper but no up map.

  5. Maybe I'm an old stick in the mud but Termi's for me........

  6. If you don't mind me asking, how much were the Akrapovic exhaust?
I'm trying to look out for some used ones

  7. I managed to pick up a second hand full system off a SL was approx half list price and with the sale of my Termi's and up map it made the cost to change more realistic.

  8. If you're gonna buy new have a look at getting them from Italy, I got the Carbon front exit Termis for about 1350 (1700 - 2000 over here) end of last year and the exchange rate is not too bad at the moment...

When I got my bike I asked the dealer honestly are the Akra's worth the extra grand.. he said they look nicer but unless you go full system there's no point.... I had a custom map on mine and the midrange is now wheel liftingly awesome :)

  9. Personally I think the 'increased midrange' is in the remap, and I think it's an area where the stock 'up map' could be better.

The reason I say this is that in theory (or my limited understanding) the increased bite size of the full system will be a benefit at top end, at mid range the gas speed should be quicker with the stock system, however I could be well out! Either way, I really think go with whatever u like the looks of and then get a really good custom map done.

I had a custom map with arrow pipes on my 848 and it was also the difference between the bike lifting the wheel off of roundabouts easily and not at all previously.

The front exit termi's look cool but I would worry about heat exiting under the front of the bike but I'm sure that's really not a valid worry

  10. Have you had the front exit termis noise tested? Are they quieter, do you think, than the previous incarnation?

  11. Not yet, will get them tested at Silverstone in June just to see... my phone app said 102DB (No idea how accurate it is obviously)... to be honest I don't think they are any louder than standard, if they are then only by a very small amount.... can't comment on them vs the Titanium ones as not heard one close up... would imagine they would be similar... there is no baffle with the Carbon ones though so will make strict trackdays an issue it appears :disappointed:
