More specifically the made-to-measure boots variety, I've got dodgy feet,(only the feet???),and although I don't have too much of a struggle to find boots to fit I quite fancy a pair tailored to my own unique plates. anyone used them/wear them/got something to say about them?

My Altbergs, are the best mc boots i have ever had, and that includes alpinestars dainese and many others.
Had a pair from 03-17. Very comfortable and never leaked etc. Not neccessarily the ‘armour’ of other boots -plastics outside bits etc but pretty robust and comfortable.
I only have a ready to wear pair.... but think they Ace anything else. I have the high leg version that protects the shin to just below the knee. Plusses, Comfortable, strong, tough, excellent sole wear, good grip, easy to get on/off, thorough protection, easy to walk when wearing, UK made... Bad points: zip stiching spilt away on one, the velcro can rub yer leg if not quite set right.... err thats it I think...
I went there with the intention of having made to measure, as like you I've got awkward feet. Came away with a modified on the day off the shelf pair, well impressed. Only criticism I have is they were a little tight around the calf when new but getting better each time I wear them. And they came with vibram soles. Can't say their better made than Daytona boots though, which I think can also be made to measure.
p.s. If you looking for a style icon Altberg ain't it, they do look a bit clumpy but I'm not a fashion icon either so they'll do me. And I think the two zip system with Daytona, fit wise, is better but their a damn sight more expensive than Altberg.
i have a pair of their off the peg hiking boots and i consider myself a bit of a shoe guru. they are outstanding in all respects and could still be good value at 1.5x their current prices
Although I doubt they're suitable for use on a bike, I am delighted with my Altberg Defender boots for general walking and outdoor use. They are UK Military issue and often available ex-MoD although I got mine 2nd hand unused from eBay. Comfort and construction quality are excellent and I would not now buy another pair of motorcycle boots without checking out Altberg.
I had a pair for work and they were very sturdy and took a bit of breaking in. My wife has a pair.of bike.boots made for her. They are over 10 years old now and still in great condition. They also have an extra 1/2 inch built in as she's short in the leg.
I have a pair of the field and fell boots. Not for biking but wear them for work. Very comfy and wear well.
