Morning all, Curious to know if I can run wheels from a different model Ducati in any of my 916 996 platform bikes. Age and demand is making the proper marchesini wheels somewhat hard to find. Any help would be great, Regards, olly
Any small bore SSSA rear axle and standard track, front fork, the 848 is a good example. Although not relevant to you, I mixed and matched a rear wheel from a Panigale with a front wheel from a Hypermotard SP for my Multistrada. Andy
Rear yes, front no - at least not without restrictions. 848 wheel has 5 hole disc mountings so you would need to find suitable discs, problem being the 5 hole discs are 15mm offset whereas you will need 10mm offset. Also no cutout for the speedo drive so you'd be losing your speedo.
thanks mate really helpful! might just keep looking for another set of marchesini 5 spokes, just liked the idea of something newer!
They are a bit special aren’t they! been looking at the oz wheels does anyone have any Experience with them?
the pani wheels are a great finish smooth and gloss, the 996 wheels are like a textured finished and satin
