Hi, Bought a 1260S in Nov and had to wait as the dealer needed to sort the exhaust valve (I believe they replaced it). I mention that as I believe it’s a know issue on these. Since I collected it I’ve only ridden it a couple of times at the back end of last year. No issues, no warning lights. I’ve also run it up a few times in the garage. I got it out today and the amber check engine light remained on (went out for about 45 mins). I thought I’d ask for the forums wisdom - any simple things I can do / check? Does it recheck and turn itself off if the fault is eliminate or is it a dealer reset? it’s under warranty, but if there’s something simple I can do to eliminate anything that would be much easier that booking it in to the dealer. Thanks is advance! Ben
The light may stay off after a few , Heat up cool down cycles. If not take it back. Could be anything. Also, the exhaust valve will come back to bite you. Remove, disable or bypass it. Lots of methods. Lots of post on here to help you. Happy riding. X
Thank you. The valve is on my list to deal with, but was thinking of leaving until the end of my warranty? Don’t want to invalidate it.
Engine light could be due to low battery voltage. Had this last spring, bike laid up over winter, alarm and tracker. Sorted solar charger too late to stop it getting below the threshold. Cleared after a few ignition cycles, dealer confirmed as the issue.
