Another Bike Needed-pillion Friendly But Nothing Boring!

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Balmy, Aug 1, 2014.

  1. I'm wanting another bike to own alongside my Senna. It needs to be able to carry pillions and maybe a bit of luggage.
Thing is I don't want anything 'normal' but most Ltd Ed are single seaters.

    Then I saw this:

I went to look at one before I bought the Senna some 8/9 years ago.

But think he wants a lot for this? Though is fairly local.

Anyone got any other suggestions for a suitable bike? Cheers.

  2. This bike has been mentioned before and the lister defended his position by stating it was a Haga replica and therefore quite rare and apparently desirable. As he hasn't sold it presumably others might not think so. I think he may even be a member of this forum.

Maybe a non replica model might be cheaper.

  3. Surely for pillions and luggage, any sort of sports bike is always a compromise. I would be after something more adventure style. I have the MTS for two up and luggage and you can't fault it. If you want something unusual then look at oddities like a Cagiva Elefant which I have a hankering for or maybe go big and get a Blackbird or similar.

  4. I'd never realised Nori Haga carried pillions!

Still, you learn something new on ebay every day

  5. I'd thought about going the Busa or ZX12R route. Or even a Fireblade. Think a 'Bird is a bit too touring for me!
But was trying for something a bit more exclusive.

  6. Pike peak

  7. I bought a moto guzzi 1200 sport last year and that is great with a pillion. Nothing sporty about it really but it is a lot of fun to ride solo or with a pillion.

  8. RSV-R pillion friendly?
    You'd need a friendly pillion.

  9. Try phoning Randy Mamola (I think) see if he has a spare Desmosedici with a pillion seat and foot pegs

  11. he said he didn't want boring ;)

how about a nice RC 45? Sure you can get a custom dual sat for that...

  12. Compared to a 899 Pani it's like a sofa! RSV-R's are quite roomy for sports bikes - and you buy from the heart not the head anyway - sales pitch over :D good thing is values have bottomed out too and started to rise and if you buy the best one in the country you'll be as happy as a...

NOW REALLY DON'T KNOW WHICH PICTURE TO USE

  15. Yours looks lovely Exige. But not wanting to spend that much on a second bike that won't matter too much.

RC45 is on the list to acquire Bradders but not for this reason ;)

  16. I've just done over 2,000 miles on my Elefant to WDW, with loaded luggage. It ran perfectly, and the wife loves it on the back. Cheap enough and fun!

  17. I had an RSV and the pillion pad is quite a large flat surface and fairly good for pillions. Much better than my 750ss, 749 and 848 but not a patch on my MG Stelvio which was like an armchair(or so the mrs told me)

  18. Completely unplanned, but while working in jersey last week I saw this and have decided to buy it and import it. Is pillion friendly though photo shows in single seat spec.

Certainly fits the unusual / rare bill. :)
