Another Insurance Question

  1. Just bought a 916 and went to add to my current policy with CN. That will be a £1000 please because you're not allowed to use your No Claims Bonus on a second bike. After half an hour they got it down to £560

Just went on a comparison website and got it fully comp but declaring 10 years NCB for £98:00, even taking it off got it down to £300 against CN quote.

Are all brokers the same or do we just ignore it and take out a new policy with the no claims bonus ?

I thought it would be about £60 to add another bike, after all you can only ride one at a time...

    Any thoughts.....

  2. You can only use NCB on one policy at a time. Unless you run seperate policies as I do. This means you have two or more sets of NCB accruing. You certainly should be able to get a multi-bike policy.

  3. So they tried to rip you off for £440 on top of a stupid increase in premium (£560). Personally I'd kick them into touch and make sure they knew why. That's just plain greedy and an insult to anyone's intelligence. Tell them straight your name is not spelt "M U G".

  4. Its nice of them to only allow ncb on one bike but if you have a accident, at fault or not, your premiums go up on all vehicles! Cheers guys!

  5. I have no intention of riding the 916 at the moment, so opted for 'laid up' policy which basically means you can't ride it. It's only insured in the garage or on the drive. For £65 it seemed the best solution, for now.

The cheapest I could get with bennetts on a second bike with zero NCB was £350...or a multi bike policy for £550:00

    Ducati Insurance couldn't do anything..........again !
