Another "no Start" Thread.

  1. Hi. Bike is driving me insane now. Changed the starter relay. Changed tr battery. Cleaned all contacts and checked fuses....and still no joy. When I put the key in, the clocks do the sweeping and nothing for a minute. Then the fuel pump comes and and stays on. Bike doesn't crank or anything. I keep the stand up before the ignition is turned in. Somebody help please? I'm ready to throw the thing off a cliff. [emoji30]

  3. try wiggling the little plug that goes into the starter solenoid, or even checking if it's pushed right in. When was bike last run?

  4. Run about a week ago. But the starter relay was faulty and running whilst the engine was running. I replaced the relay for a spare so hopefully should be a coincidence. To make it more complicated there is an aftermarket ecu installed. I do have originals but have to code them which I assume would be a crazy task to do. Want to hear my bike run first!

  5. the reason I mention that plug is that they have a habit of either coming loose or becoming lightly corroded enough to stop current flow. Best bet is to try direct power (carefully) to starter terminal with earth going to engine using a known good battery. I always connect the earth last as sparks will fly. If starter churns then you can work your way through circuit to see which connection/ancilliary is misbehaving.

  6. Thanks Chris. Just tried playing with them wires and didn't work. Also noticed the rear brake light permanently on. Guess there is some electric issue somewhere that is keep some circuits on?

  8. My faithful Elefant has sat out in the rain on and off for the last 6 years and it never goes wrong and i still can't understand why - it defies everything that's written about Italian electrics.

  9. Any idea what these connectors are for?[IMG]

  10. You're probably better off joining ukmoc and along over there :)

  11. At least one of them looks like the fuel level sender connection from under the tank. Not sure what the other might be without going out to the garage and checking my M600 though.

  12. Thanks. That's ok. I had enough and sold my monster for a grand total of 800 quid.

  13. is that three multiplugs unused?? This might be Lucazade's old bike which would explain things as he swapped engine for earlier type from memory - one is probably fuel level sender in tank but can't tell without colours and as said, ukmoc would be quicker without me pulling out old wiring diagrams.
